Surroundings

What other people come to do on their holidays in Munich, you can enjoy during your lunch or coffee break, or after work.

You might have breakfast at Rosi’s coffee bar on Rosenheimer Strasse; take lunch or a coffee break at the highly popular Icelandic Café Blá, which has a range of select coffee varieties; or down an after-work beer or a refreshing spritzer with a dumpling served by Octoberfest host Florian Oberndorfer in the Wirtshaus in der Au, one of the city’s most attractive and most popular Bavarian guesthouses featuring a large, sunny beer garden. How about a relaxed stroll along the Isar river and around Museum Island and the German Museum, or a lunchtime swim at Müllersches Volksbad, one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau swimming pools in the world?

Three times a year, the Auer Dult takes place on Mariahilfplatz, only 250m away. Here you’ll find stalls selling bric-a-brac, household goods and groceries, but there’s also a dash of fairground magic featuring much-loved traditional rides as well as fish kebabs and Bavarian snacks.

Less than 200m to the south and north, the Isar is flanked by popular pebble beaches where you can relax over lunch or after work, enjoy a beer and even jump into the water.

Things you need every day or quite often – all within walking distance

On the way to the S-Bahn tram stop at Rosenheimer Platz, you’ll pass the popular Motorama shopping mail, a cult 1970s brutalist building where you can buy everything for your daily needs. Here you’ll find supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, Asian grocery stores and Aldi – to name but a few. Further along, up Rosenheimer to the Gasteig, you’ll see a number of street food bars. You can get anything here, from doner kebabs, pizza, sushi and burgers to ice cream, plus 100 different varieties of beer at the Späti off-licence and even super-tasty Afghan food.
And all this within walking distance of your future office. Sound good? Feel free to contact me to arrange a viewing.
